SPOILERS AHEAD!!!

Maybe I should have named this A week with Xillia 2. Regardless, I will log my progress in this game in real-time. Refresh your browser to see what I'm doing now.

Let's begin!

Won't be an interesting day, it's late and I'm sleepy. Will do as much as I can regardless.

Aladhi seahaven, story time. Chapter 9. Hope Muzét isn't too far from joining, assuming I made correct choices. The enemy list spoiled me that she will join, of all things. The plot thickens, as they say. Off to Hamil to find Julius. There should be a Bernadotte called that, he'd be a popular guy.

Called it, again! Even get the chance to hit on her a bit. Maybe she'll let me link some mana, like she did with Jude. So she and Gaius aren't psychos anymore? Or are the just pretending? I dig this game. Fractured dimension time. How come we've never once run into ourselves in those yet? Must be an explaination for it. Muzét seems like her flirty/horny crazy self. Can wait until she betrays me, unless it's someone else in the party, like Alvin or Gaius. Wonder what kind of crazy Muzét is, the Tifa kind or standard NFP kind? Never had guessed her weapon of choice were hairpins.

Any skill more expensive than 10 is just nuts. Bet SP set to 1 is extremely expensive.

Proceeding through Fractured Kijara. Time to destroy another world I barely know anything about. Are me and Julius really blood related? He seems to be in his 30s, especially if be babysat Alvin. Unless these dimensions screw up our own. Whatever. Feels good to have the final bosses at my command. If a tad bit strange. With a few playthroughs, they'll be more powerful than their boss forms ever were. Bet there's a dimension where I'll fight them again, unless they betray me, latter of which I grow more and more to doubt. Is Ludger's hair natural or does he just go the extra mile to color his eyebrows, too? I don't like that he blush so much now, must make better choices.

Fairly standard bossfight after a bonus scene with Elle. Perhaps those are related to the sidequests or is it affinity? Got myself an upgrade to my chromatus form as well. Nice! End of chapter. Jobs again. Will explore halfassed again. Upgrading equipment and heading out. Why did they remove exp increasing food from common stores early in the game? It made xillia more fun. It feels so weird to write that word without a 2 behind it. Just discovered you can keep sliding after stopping from a dash by bringing up the menu. Useless trick. patch plz

Development of Dawn of the new morons were limited, as the developers were mostly focused on xillia at the time. It shows the team was salty about the thing and did Marta and Emil right in xillia 2.

Made enough mo- What the heck, Nova? Sure. Will do character quests before proceeding. First is Elize. Pinkist is such an awful term, it sounds self-degrading.  This chapter should be fun. Nice not to have Elle around for a change. Something is bound to happen to her or myself by the end of the game. I feel Rowen wasn't completely honest. Good explaination to bring me along, truly. How do people check which country you're from, aside being able to use spirit artes or not? If my phone would go Hey, hey, answer me, I'd smash it and call an exorcist. End of chapter. A bit disappointing, but it's fun to be with Elize.

Alvin's turn. Ah, delightful music in Drellin, as always. Almost as nice as SirCorp.. "You'd come ever if I said no". pwnd hard, Speaking of pwning, I'm so damn smooth. Tricking people can be more fun than force. He sure sounded calm for someone who just kicked a trash can. End of chapter. Nothing fancy.

Leia's up. This might be fun. Lotta Heart has ruined the word scoop for me. Ace attorney vs Xillia needs to happen. So does Tales of symphonia vs vesperia vs xillia. Just getting it out there. Chapter over, now she wants me to do a job for her. How disappointing. Still, I do the jobs I'm able to. It might come in use somehow. Plus, I like Leia, I'd love to see her story go on. This is a perfect RPG sequel in so many ways. Instead of forcing you to play as a whole new character and have him/her spend time with the characters from the past games and give him/her a shitty personality, they make the character very bland on purpose and silent, as well as make the players able to interact with the characters he meets by chosing what you can say to them, AND he pretty much always bring a character from the past game with him, making sure that two people from the predecesor spend time with each other and you can interact with them as a third party. It's amazing just how many things this game does well.

Also, jazz in Olympios, orchestra in Rieze maxia, rock/orchestra in battle. Good choices. One of the jobs not related to Leia had me meet Julius, and the game barely cared. Huh

Anyway, final character story for now. That being Gaius. Muzét's insane, truly. Had forgotten this town had a harbor and an inn. What a fun fight, a whole ton of weakling. Makes me miss 200 man melee. The end. Fun chapter, but it feels hypocritical to fight random Rieze maxia haters for peace. Like John Lennon said, fighting for peace is like fucking for virginity.

Heading to Drellin to continue the actual story. Have I mentioned how I love the boomish noise at the end of Form destroyer? I do. Chapter 10. I'm certain now, Elle's from another dimension and that dimension's Ludger or possibly Julius but most likely Ludger is her father. I'm either from another dimension or Elle's father's the "prime" Ludger and I'm just a REPLICAAAAAAA- different version of him. The plot thickens. Different dimension time. Where's Muzét and Gaius, btw? This game is surprisingly detailed sometimes; whenever Elle or Rollo isn't accompanying you in the story, whether you're on a sidequest or not, they won't show up in the Kitty dispatch menu. Nice touch!

Arrived at some ruins. Proceeding. It's strange of how NOT utterly annoyed by Elle I am. She can be annoying no doubt, but she's no Marta. Yes, she talks about her father a lot, but she's still a child. It doesn't automatically excuse everything about her, as children in fiction can be "better" than real ones, but it's understandable why she acts the way she does. Mostly. So did this lake of hers truly magically disappear or are they from another time? I already said the different dimension possibility, but I wonder if they go with the really obvious one or if they go for something completely else. Ace attorney 3's Iris comes to mind. Guess this means the place at the mash and ice cave may be visitable at one point or another, they were all sealed off as well. Maybe we can fight Gaius at the marsh again, or something. How many playthroughs 'til I learn Glory? Bet it will cost 50 sp anyway.

OH NO THE SECURITY SYSTEM IS KRATOS PLEASE DON'T HURT MWait, it's just the same voice actor. Now the game starts adressing some questions I've raised let's see what their answer to them are. How did Elize know Elle is eight? Whatever, heading through the ruins. Wonder if I get to fight Origin already. Must be odd to voice Origin when you've been Kratos. That's the part of "act" in voice acting, something this game is lacking. Even Ludger. Yes, I said it. Or typed, rather. I like the design of these ruins, even if a tad bit unoriginal. What's Rollo doing here? Foreshadowing? Intriguing.

Best treasure chest I've ever seen. Approved. Nice doors, too. Why did I suddenly think of the sighing doors from Hitchhiker? I dig that things "light up" as you pass. Must be a sucker for that. Actually, I had an american friend who heard my usage of dig as in a synonym for like, she said "Dig...I respect that". I've aways spoken and written in an odd combination of old and new sayings, it's more fun that way. As long as they sound good. Who the hell would put a rotten bone in here, let alone the stuff in the chests? I love video games. This is my favorite dungeon so far. Just fun overall. Wonder where Chronos've gone off to. Kinda disappeared.

Not much of the trademarked sepia in this place. Perhaps I've just gotten used to it. Is it a place shared with more than one dimension? Or maybe... Quite. First Origin's like "Die or get out!" and now he politely ask us to leave and says he don't want meaningless conflict. Nicely played. A road in a caved I walked through disappeared. No backtracking, I suppose. Unless you cheat and use that teleporter. "Maybe you should be bad once in a while" being delivered by Nova followed by a pretty genuine giggle and a "Just kidding" is a very rare moment of good acting. If only the could keep it up. She can't be voiced my Michelle Ruff, it's gotta be Pascal's voice actress or something. Or maybe she actually gave a damn this time.

Not too fond of the dashing. It makes you go faster, but it takes time to rev up and you can barely turn, not to mention that you must either halt or gradually slow down while still barely being able to turn. Look at phantasia for PSX or destiny 1, hold a button and increase speed, simple and effective. Not saying dashing is useless, just that it could have been done better. At least they had the decency to actually put in something that make you travel faster. So who's Elle's mother? Whoever I get the most affection with? That'd be odd but cool. Maybe another dimension's Milla or some other party member counterpart. Or someone entirely different. If it's ever adressed, it might be the latter. I'm seriously awaiting some sort of jawdropping plot twist or two. Symphonia had two good ones. Wonder what this game's devil's arms will be like, if they have that. Or their coliseum. Can't wait for the cameo battle. Assuming there is one.

There's a room with pillars that change the music. I'm certain I'm supposed to know them, but I don't. Ought to be another room with more songs. Does it have [insert inappropriate song, artist or genre here]? So glad there's a map in this game. Welcome to the 21th century, RPG games. Glad they didn't change the alcohol references. Totally understandable that they removed the savepoints that completely restore your party and instead have all save point restore half your health even if your HP is 0.

Origin-time. Listening to messages. Then I fight him. Not too easy, but not hard. Amazing, since my equipment is far from up-to-date. Can't be the "real" Origin, the game called him fractured in the fight. Why does he speak like a robot? Chapter over. More jobs. Also, Milla's bound to die.

Exploration awaits. Half-assed version. Can't believe my Wii U considered that a word. Ah, a skit filled with sexual innuendos, and I made even Muzét blush! Good thing Gaius will take responsibility for tethering mana with Muzét. I friggin' adore this game. Also met a pigeon going "Bo!". Onomatopoeia or just plain weird? lmao, "All hail Rollo"

Ugh, more exploring. Upgrading equipment and setting out. Big question to ponder is whether Elle's my daughter or sister. Next chapter, maybe. The loan-thing is not TOO bad, as they keep it to an amount where you shoud be able to afford the new equipment without too much worry. Could have been worse.

Money paid back. Final waymarker quest next. Will do available character quest after some HAE, half-assed exploring. God damn it, it's like whenever I have somethind decent to write, some funny skit comes up or something. Any ETC skit is filled with hilarity, just what I love. I love the way they make Ludger shake his head or nod during skits. I've said it before and I'll say it again, I laugh whenever he speaks outside of battle. He's gotta shout Elle's name at one point. Elle, i.e. L, and Ludger. Subtle.

As the best king in existence would say: Enough! Character story, Jude style. "Grow some stones". Best PG way of saying grow some balls, I guess. The Tales developers usually make their less manly characters self-aware for some reason, like Jude or Emil. When will there be an openly gay character, regardless of gender, in a Tales game? DID I SERIOUSLY DO A 200 HIT COMBO ON A PLANT??!! Well, close to 200. Milla is so broken of a link partner sometimes. Earned me 8771 extra exp, more than twice the original amount. End of chapter. Nothing fancy apart from my ass kicking.

Second and last is Muzét. "I've never tethered with two people before". SHE'S A CHILD, WHAT THE EVERLASTING HELL IS WRONG WITH YOU??!! Actually, what's wrong with this GAME? Dear god, the more I go into this chapter, the weirder it gets. How is she NOT this game's boing-chan? Guess Muzét's the spirit of sexual innuendos. At least she's the physical embodiment of it. I expected a bit more of something that could hear the voices of spirits, Guess Muzét is just putting on a show, or have a cleaner mind than I thought. The end. Very silly but fun chapter. Good to hear such effort from Nigel's voice actor. I guess I'm stuck with that bracelet now. At least it suits me.

Back to the main story. Chapter 11. Elle's being the embodiment of the players now. Do the handshakes with this Bakur have any significance? Finding Elle and Milla. Here I thought I was gonna sleep sometime soon, and the story gets interesting. They're giving plenty of hints and build-up, let's see if they deliver. Especially on what'll happen to the Millas. Maybe they can combine or something. Very interesting set-ups. Feel I'll be forced to do some heavy and unpleasant choices.

Boarding the ship. Proceeding. 30 minutes time limit. Stressful, but will write when able. I should probably be annoyed by Milla's bitching, but I'm not. Not too much. It's understandable, in a way. Though she might earn extra annoyance points in hindsight.

Arrived at the hall. Didn't save too many people or defeated enough enemies. We'll see how it plays out. Entering. Milla's back. Monotone as always. Perhaps her previous voice actress was dull and boring on purpose. It was still boring to listen to, though. God, she's going all-out with it. I miss TsunMilla already, at least she talked in more than one tone. Elle's stepping into unlikability territory now, even if I understand her situation. I feel so rewarded whenever a bonus scene happens. I see they're gonna try to bullshit us in on that we might trade Millas. I'm all for it, honestly. End of chapter. Time to work, and I'm lacking in funding due to skipping so many battles. Also, Teepo speaks Elize's mind, Teepo likes to nuzzle Milla's boobs. Interesting.

Was that asshole really a Kresnik? When will he come back, I wonder? At any rate, no new locations to visit, so let's skip to character quests.

Will do them when I wake up. To be continued.
